Consulting the cards

So today, believe it or not, I went to have my ‘cards’ read. I was thinking I really needed all the help I could get to help me to decide whether I had made the right decision. And when I’m in these moments of self reflection, I like to hedge my bets and take all the advice I can get.

So off I went to the Sunflower Café to have a reading bestowed upon me by the lovely Ms Erin.

It was very interesting, somewhat surprising, but also very affirming.

We talked about a lot – not just politics, but one thing became clear to me – and that is I need to stay in my integrity and do what is ‘right’ for me. That may sound a little bit out there for some folks, but it makes sense to me.

And what I’ve been struggling with, I realized was not if I “wanted” to run for politics, but “how” I would run for politics.

I’ve had a lot of conversations the last few days – thanks to all who have called and stopped by my office when they ‘heard’ the rumours – about how I can run a ‘green’ campaign. There are pros and cons as with most decisions and one kind and concerned friend prompted me with perhaps ‘I’m cutting off my nose to spite my face.’

Which I totally understand but I’ve come to the conclusion that if I don’t feel right or good about the ‘way’ I’m running, then I’m not going to feel right or good about being elected.

So the ‘paper-free’ campaign begins … am I crazy?
